Designer Hardware

I found this great DIY on Pinterest during this past summer, and quickly made a handful because I was gaga over them.  I can’t wait to create more soon.  The tutorial found on the website will take you through the process as well as email you the templates that can be printed on either an inkjet or laser printer.  So quick & easy!

She recommends a wooden knob, but I only had the vintage ceramic ones on hand.  You know the ones – they are cheap and plentiful.  Every Habitat for Humanity store has them (or did last time I looked).  I like that they are already white and need no painting.  Just apply the image following all her great steps.  Click A Piece of Rainbow to make your own!!

I think I’d cut tiny triangles into the image along the edges in 4 places so when you smooth the image onto the knob it doesn’t fold onto itself.  If you look closely at my image you will see what I’m talking about.

Her tutorial is pretty self explanatory, but if you need any extra help, just ask!  If this was too much fun and you want another challenge – change it up with pieces of fabric or colorful napkins (remove the back two ply first).  Have fun!!  Let me know how you made out.decopage-knobs-edited
